Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods will be determined to make an impact at the 2012 US Open after he had to pull out of the 2011 US Open due to injury. Woods originally injured his leg at the US Masters last April and has only managed to play a few nine tournament holes since that event. In May Woods was forced to retire after the opening round of the Players Championship.

After a difficult 18 months Tiger Woods impressed at the 2011 US Masters where he showed glimpses of the form that made him the best golfer in the world. Woods has won the US Open on three different ocassions; in 2000, 2002 and most recently in 2008. Although he has had some well publicised personal problems in recent times he has proved he is a strong character and as always will be one of the leading candidates at the major.

Tiger has looked got in patches in 2012, with his win at Bay Hill his first 72nd PGA Tour victory. He didn't have the best of times at the US Masters back in April and ended up finishing in a disappointing tied 40th. Woods then failed to make an impact at The Players Championship with another tied 40th finish.
