Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods US Open Odds 2012 - Out of the US Open

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods will be determined to make an impact at the 2012 US Open after he had to pull out of the 2011 US Open due to injury. Woods originally injured his leg at the US Masters last April and has only managed to play a few nine tournament holes since that event. In May Woods was forced to retire after the opening round of the Players Championship.

After a difficult 18 months Tiger Woods impressed at the 2011 US Masters where he showed glimpses of the form that made him the best golfer in the world. Woods has won the US Open on three different ocassions; in 2000, 2002 and most recently in 2008. Although he has had some well publicised personal problems in recent times he has proved he is a strong character and as always will be one of the leading candidates at the major.

Form

Tiger had a poor start to 2011, coming a lowly 44th in the Farmers Insurance Open in what was his worst ever season-opening finish. He has been inconsistent in many of the tournaments he has competed in and has also been widely criticised for spitting by a hole in the Dubai Desert Classic. Tiger has dropped to 5th in the World Rankings, his lowest since 1997. Tiger put his troubles behind him at the US Masters and even lead briefly in the final round after a strong finish, however, he just missed out on his 15th Major win finishing in tied 4th.
