Jim FurykUntil Tiger Woods won in 2008 and Lucas Glover in 2009, Jim Furyk had been the last American to win the US Open, he did so in 2003 and he has a great record in the tournament in general.

Jim Furyk has been amongst the top flight of golfers for several years and won the US Open in 2003 and was tied second in both 2006 and 2007. He is remarkably consistent and has been in the World's Top 20 since 1999.

Jim Furyk US Open Golf 2012 Odds

Furyk rarely misses the cut and can never be ruled out of any tournament. He is more than a match for any player on his day and that may just be the case at the Congressional Country Club this season. He will enjoy the course and will be a very dangerous player if he can sneak up the leader board.

Furyk had an exceptional 2010 season, winning a career-best three tournaments, including the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup. He also won the PGA Player of the Year and PGA Tour Player of the Year. The American hasn't yet recaptured that sort of form in 2011 but he is always a threat in major competitions.
